Lacking on Outdoor Space Upkeep Can Freak Out Potential Buyers

Realtor.com recently published an advice column for sellers urging them to keep their outdoor spaces in mind when listing their home.

Stephanie Booth, the article’s author, listed the 7 Crazy Things in Your Outdoor Space That Can Freak Out Potential Buyers. Each number on the list gives a realtor’s real-life story that is sure to make you reconsider neglecting the outside area of your home.

Booth states it doesn’t matter how much TLC and hardcore scrubbing you do on the inside of the house if there are a zillion bugs and even illegal activity happening on the outside.

The list details a spiderweb haven as the number one no-no, followed by ant hills, a “real-life pet cemetery,” and mysterious holes littering the yard.

Booth also encourages hunters to keep their kills, for lack of a better term, cleaned up for guests. The realtor who came across a big buck deer that was still being worked on said, “sellers should keep in mind that what's normal or acceptable to them isn't always going to be OK for everyone else.”
